This extraordinary and rare 1920s Czech Egyptian Revival necklace is so detailed that we know it is an extremely special creation. Your eyes are drawn to many places at once. The long crystal teardrop, for example, has an etched floral design in the glass that is brushed with a gold overlay. The brass medallion features a sphinx, camel with tiny aqua and clear faceted crystals. Above them all is a large domed millifiori bead…a Murano glass technique known as ”thousand flowers”. The bezel citrine colored Czech glass beads are linked by beautifully detailed filigree and petal shaped caps. This piece is signed and numbered on the back of the large teardrop but we can’t make out the inscription and it is in excellent vintage condition. The actual necklace measures 18” in length. The platform for the millifiori bead measures 2-1/2” in width and 1-1/2” tall. The huge sphinx drop measures 5-1/2” to the tip of the glass teardrop and is 1-1/2” at its widest point.
